Within all the 2012 prophecies there are similarities between a lot of the belief systems. Some believe that due to all the signs and the current happenings in the world, year 2012 might signify the beginning of the End of Days, the Apocalypse and the final showdown between Good and Evil.

Year 2012: The Apocalypse and The Christian Bible

Does the current affairs of today and do the prophecies of 2012 mark the time of the apocalypse?

Many see the apocalypse as a word that conjures images of the end of the world, but the original meaning of apocalypse, which comes from early Greek terminology, can be defined as: a great revealing or unveilling of something. To lift the veil and to uncover something of great importance. Hence the writings of John from the Bible known as the Book of Revelations.

Now in every civilization, at some point, groups of individuals felt, based on the current happenings of the world, that their own time marks the end of time. Just as then, many different sects of people feel that due to our environmental problems, wars in the Middle East and the religious, political and social differences of today, the great apocalpse is well on its way.

Looking at the Christian, Judaism and Muslim belief systems, they all have extremely similair depictions of the final war between good and evil marking the end of the world as we know it. Many believers also make the connection to that and the many problems we face today, whether a coping mechanism or pure strong belief. Although the names, terminology and various difference occurs in their religious writings the foundation basically stays the same.

In the Book of Revelations of the Bible, which is also known as the Apocalypse of St. John, depicts 7 (which is a spiritually significant number) years of trials and tribulation. A series of natural cataclysms which create the starting point for the ultimate battle between satan and Christ. Some believe that we are within these 7 years as we become more crowded causing war, nuclear weapons and environmental disaster which weren’t such an issue a hundred or so years ago. We now have enough technology, enough differences and a large enough population, strong enough to cause our own end, the end of the world.

Within the Christian Bible and the Christian belief, when the time of Revelations (which is another term for “revealing” or “unveiling”) the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet are to appear. During the history of humanity since the times of the Bible, many earlier generations have claimed others such as Roman Emporers and even Hitler as being “The AntiChrist“, so it is important to remember that if such a entity does exist, that evil exists in many people and identifying such a person could be an extremely tough discovery. Some feel that the Antichrist that John is speaking of is the emporer of the ancient Romans known as Nero, who’s name correlated directly with the number 666 – the mark of the beast. At the time Nero was a tyranical figure who was clearly the enemy of Christians and thought them a threat to the Romans.

So what does this have to do with the 2012 prophecies and the year 2012 phenomenon?

2012 prophecies and 2012 predictions

Part of what makes the predictions and prophecies of 2012 and the 2012 phenomenon so intrigueing is that signs of the year 2012 being so important is that so many civilizations mark this time as a time of very great importance. Just a few peices of the puzzle which makes December 21, 2012 such an important reminder is:

  • Many religions feel that we are entering a time of great change and will be upon us extremely soon.
  • The Bible Code, which uses the Old Testament Bible which is written in Hebrew, has marked the Year 2012 as an extremely important time. Learn more about the Bible Code.
  • Web Bot, a program used to make stock market predictions, predicted both the Twin Tower incident of 9/11 and great cataclysms said to occur in and up to the year 2012. Note: the Web Bot program has also made many in-correct predictions as well.
  • Michel Nostradame ( Better known as the Alchemist, Astrologer, Seer and Prophet Nostradamus ) made a number of 2012 prophecies in addition to creating a number of prophecies and predictions which blatently came true. Such predictions of Nostradamus were the death of King Henry II, Napoleon, the deaths of the children of King Henry II, World War II, Hitler, JFK, and many more. (according to many translations of his work.)
  • Plus a plethora of many different 2012 prophecies, predictions and theories which all pertain to year 2012!

In addition to all of this many people feel that due to influxes in our economy, environment, politics, faiths, etc. are nearing a time of an event horizon in which something has to give. This combined with many enrivornmental threats as well as threats from outer space such as solar flares, the weakening of the magnetic field of the earth and other cosmic threats are more real than ever before.

With such constant reminders, no wonder people look to year 2012 as a time of great change. But does this mean Doomsday, or the End of the World for Everyone?

Depending on which faith you belong to reveals answers to the above question individually.

Picking apart all the paperwork, all the bits and peices of each religion and their rules, a statement often comes to mind:

Time is going to be tough, and will reveal the great battle of good and evil. But in the end, good will overcome evil and will reign in the new world.”

Taking it out of religious context, many also feel that preparedness seems to be the great key which divides the survivors from those that will not. Whether that means preparing your soul or physically preparing yourself and your family – especially from the threat of a cataclysmic disaster.

According to Murphy’s Law, only when we are truly prepared, nothing bad usually happens… but when we are not prepared… well, you know…

I think it is ultimately up to each and every one of us to make our own translation of what it all means. I also believe that not a single person has the ultimate key to all the answers either. All we can do is display the evidence and make an educated thought-through decision.

2012 prophecies of the Bible Code

Now the aim of this post (or blog in whole) is not to make any judgement calls, just to get a clear look at the many factions of the 2012 phenomenon. Our job is to ask the questions that go unanswered while making educated decisions on how we approach the future ahead.

A note of caution: The last thing we, or many others out there would want to do, is cause mass hysteria therefore creating a self-fulfilled prophecy. We feel that through education, spirituality, preparedness, understanding, empathy and love, we can create organization. From the chaos, turning fear, hate and anger in to something much more constructive and gentleness therefore gaining practical solutions to the problems we may be facing in the future.
